Pay As You Consume: Bajaj Allianz Launches Usage-Based Motor Insurance Add-On Cover

In the forever rapidly evolving world of insurance and finance, traditional models are giving way to innovative solutions that cater to the diverse needs of consumers. One such groundbreaking development is the introduction of a usage-based motor insurance add-on cover by Bajaj Allianz. This innovative new add-on cover has the potential to transform the insurance landscape while also providing greater convenience and cost-effectiveness to consumers and promoting safer driving habits.*

In this article, we will delve deep into the key features and benefits of Bajaj Allianz’s new usage-based motor insurance add-on cover, highlighting the implications it holds for the future of the insurance industry.

Private Sector Bajaj The ‘Pay As You Consume’ (PAYC) add-on car insurance cover from Allianz General Insurance was introduced on Thursday. The business was the first to introduce ‘Pay As You Consume’ by the Irdai’s Sandbox Regulations.

Bajaj Allianz General Insurance added this as a full-fledged cover under its automobile insurance products as a result of the enormous client response.

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) permitted general insurers to offer complex add-ons to a vehicle insurance policy earlier this month. These are telematics-based auto insurance plans, and the cost is determined by how the car is used or how the driver behaves.

The company added that customers might choose Pay-as-you-go add-on coverage in addition to the standard OD (Own Damage) plan under the Package Product, Bundled, and Standalone OD cover.

Customers can select coverage based on how much they drive their car each year, which will also affect how much they pay in premiums.

The company’s “BJAZ CARINGLY YOURS” mobile app (the customer’s app) or information supplied by the customer through a device, among other sources, will be used to study the customers’ driving conduct.

Customers don’t need to worry if their chosen number of miles during the vehicle insurance period runs out because they can use the top-up plan to add more miles to their plan. The company provides “GRACE KM” gratification at claim time if a customer forgets to add kilometers to their top-up plan, if the chosen miles are exhausted during the policy period.

This innovative approach empowers policyholders with greater control over their insurance costs and incentivises safer driving practices. Pay-as-you-go insurance offers fairness and transparency in premium calculation, eliminating the obligation of fixed rates on individuals.  Moreover, the integration of technology and data analytics enables insurers to gain deeper insights into driver behaviour and risk assessment, leading to more accurate pricing and personalised coverage options. Vehicle insurance online payment is also possible.

Bajaj Allianz’s introduction of the Usage-Based Motor Insurance Add-On Cover represents a significant step towards more personalized and cost-effective auto insurance solutions. This innovative offering allows policyholders to align their insurance costs more closely with their actual driving habits, potentially leading to savings and greater financial control. As the insurance industry continues to evolve, such flexible and adaptable options serve as a testament to the industry’s commitment to meeting the diverse needs of today’s drivers. It also highlights the importance of staying informed about the latest insurance products and exploring opportunities for tailored coverage that can benefit both the insurer and the insured.
